Aviation Market Expansion: flydubai Introduces Double Daily Flights to Milan Bergamo from July

DUBAI, UAE / RankWire.AI / – The UAE airline flydubai has increased its capacity to Italy in response to the rising international travel demand. According to official statements from Emirates News Agency, the airline is expanding its operations across key commercial hubs in Italy with additional flight frequencies. Starting from July 31, 2026, the airline will operate double daily flights connecting Dubai with Milan-Bergamo, while also boosting its presence in Naples with daily round-trip services.

flydubai adds double daily flights to Milan Bergamo from July
Airline management teams allocate commercial fleet capacity to high demand travel markets.

This revised schedule broadens flydubai’s overall operational footprint in Italy, which already includes three weekly flights to Catania Airport in Sicily and seasonal summer flights twice weekly to Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport in Sardinia, running through the end of August. Besides increasing flight frequencies, the airline has announced operational adjustments due to scheduled infrastructure work in Southern Italy. Between November 1 and November 30, 2026, flydubai will temporarily reroute its daily service from Dubai International Airport to Salerno Costa d’Amalfi and Cilento Airport during maintenance at Naples International Airport. Regular flights to Naples will resume on December 1, 2026, with existing bookings automatically transferred to the Salerno route during this period.

Codeshare Alliance Facilitates Passenger Transfers at Dubai Hub

The newly expanded routes to Milan-Bergamo and Naples remain part of the codeshare agreement between flydubai and the international flag carrier Emirates. This partnership enables travelers to access integrated itineraries, unified single-ticket purchases, coordinated flight schedules, and through-checked baggage handling across both airline networks. Utilizing the joint network via Dubai’s central airport hub allows passengers connecting from Italian airports to reach long-haul destinations across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, including direct routes to Kenya, Oman, the Maldives, Sri Lanka, and Zanzibar.

This capacity growth aligns with broader aviation trends in the Middle East and Europe, where international passenger traffic continues to rebound post-pandemic. The increased flight frequencies support growth in bilateral trade, investment, and leisure tourism between the United Arab Emirates and Italy. The addition of double-daily flights to Milan-Bergamo provides more seats for business travelers heading to Italy’s major financial and industrial hub, while daily services to Southern Italy cater to seasonal tourist demand visiting historic sites along the Amalfi Coast.

Ghaith Al Ghaith, flydubai’s CEO, commented that Naples and Milan have become vital gateways within the airline’s European route network. He emphasized that maintaining consistent regional access remains a priority, alongside a long-term commitment to improving connectivity to underserved markets. Al Ghaith noted that recent market data shows flydubai is strengthening its Italy operations with strategic frequency increases to meet the rising passenger flow between the UAE and Italy, especially as travel volumes accelerate ahead of the winter season.

Airports in the Region Serve as Direct Access Points for Travelers

Jeyhun Efendi, Divisional Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations and E-commerce at flydubai, highlighted that expanding direct flight options to Naples and Milan-Bergamo underscores the importance of the Italian market for the airline. Efendi explained that non-stop routes allow international travelers to leverage the combined reach of flydubai and Emirates, accessing global destinations seamlessly via Dubai. The airline’s commercial teams confirmed that fleet capacity and operational resources are prepared to support the increased number of daily flights, ensuring reliability for both passenger and cargo services.

These operational enhancements in Italy are part of flydubai’s ongoing fleet expansion and international network development plan. As new modern narrow-body aircraft join the fleet, the airline aims to increase frequencies on high-demand European routes. The expanded Italian services reinforce Dubai’s role as a global aviation hub, facilitating efficient passenger and freight movement between European origins and destinations across the Middle East, Indian Subcontinent, and East Africa.
